Day 35
The sun beaming down relentlessly throughout the hike
Location: East Davis Lake Campsite
Distance: 15 miles
Weather: very hot and sunny
Mood: Tired of the heat
While still at a friend's house, we slept in until 8AM & had an amazing breakfast of farm fresh eggs, bacon, toast, & jam. I hadn't had fried eggs since before we started this journey. It was so generous and gracious of them to let us stay at there place & transport us around.
Eventually we had to get back to the hike. We didn't start until 11AM and it was already 80 degrees. It got up to 86 degrees in the afternoon and was very hot and sunny with the only saving grace being an occasional breeze.
We travelled through the Porcupine Lake Wilderness today. It was full of trees with leaves changing color and many leaves already on the ground.
We passed several lakes on today's hike with lots of beautiful lake views along the trail.
We got to camp late and we were tired, hot & sweaty. Anthony soon jumped in East Davis Lake to cool off. I should have too but didn't.
It started cooling off and the breeze made it feel much better. After dinner, we went back to the lake to stare at the moon for a while. It was a very relaxing view.
Tomorrow it is supposed to start cooling off & hopefully will stay cool the rest of our hike.
