We had lunch in a snowmobile shelter
This blow down was huge enough for 3 tents to setup under the roots
Anthony, the hiking purist, walked the official SHT trail even when it paralleled the road. I did not.

Mood: Excited for the upcoming rest days
We woke to a light rain that continued off and on all day. Our shoes were still wet from yesterday's mud puddles so more wet was fine. Aside from the rain, there were many more puddles to walk through today. There is a cooling feeling when cold water squeezes between your toes with every step but after seven hours or more it does wear on you.
There wasn't much sight-seeing due to the rain and fog. We ended at the University of Minnesota Duluth campus where our wives met us to go to the hotel we booked for the weekend. A shower and a restaurant meal were a nice change from the daily trail food.
